Why is it dangerous to strip off birthmarks? Possible consequences and first aid

Birthmarks are benign tumors on the skin, which usually do not endanger the health and life of a person. However, too large birthmarks or those that are located in places of high injury can cause anxiety, especially if they are damaged or worn. Why is it dangerous to tear the birthmarks, but what should be done if the damage did happen?
Why is it dangerous to strip your birthmarks?
As already mentioned, birthmark is a benign tumor, it does not create the danger, if it does not grow, does not change the color or form. The listed changes are a sign of degeneration of a benign tumor into malignant, and provoking them can be mechanical damage to the birthmarks. If the tumor becomes malignant, it’s about skin cancer, or melanoma, from which you can quickly die without proper treatment.
What should I do if my birthmark is still damaged? First aid
In the case of damaged birthmarks, people usually have two extremes: some are very scared, believing that they will die soon, while others do not pay attention to it at all. In fact, you just need to know the algorithm of action in a situation that can happen to almost everyone.
So, first aid for damage to birthmarks is as follows: first of all, you should calm down and stop the bleeding. To do this, take a cotton swab and hydrogen peroxide, moisten the cotton wool with peroxide and attach to the lesion until it stops completely. If hydrogen peroxide was not found at hand, you should take a sterile bandage, fold it several times and squeeze it to the wound, holding to a complete stop of the bleeding. After this, you should urgently seek medical assistance.
At the injury point, the place of damage is disinfected, the mother-to-be removed completely, if it has been partly subjected. Deleted material will necessarily be taken on a histological analysis, and in about a week it will be understood that it was a benign or malignant tumor.
If the child is deprived of the birthmark, the procedure is identical, and the same must be done to stop the bleeding and seek medical attention. Children should be explained that the mole can not be touched, it is dangerous for their health and even life.
How to prevent birth defects: practical advice
Almost always birthmarks are damaged by accident. To prevent such troubles, it is worth:
Maintain hygiene of hands, especially nails. They should be clean, neatly trimmed, comfortable length. Quite often, birthmarks are stripped with too long nails.
Clearly know where you have convex or large birthmarks that you can easily pull off. In these places the clothes should be free to cut, not to cover the body. Also, moles are often found where women wear a bra. If such a feature is, it should always be remembered about it.
Be attentive to the soul, do not rub the area with a mole with a washcloth, scrub, so as not to damage it. It is also necessary to gently wipe the place with the toy with a gimmicks, it is better to simply soak them.
Preventive removal of moles
If the birthmark is the cause of significant human discomfort, it is very large, convex, is in the place of constant contact with the bra, a strap, then it is better to remove it. Before that, you should visit a dermatologist who will give you relevant recommendations and send it to a specialist. Before removing, you must have a dermatoscopy procedure to rule out the malignant nature of the birthmark. Indeed, in the case of melanoma, the approach to removing birthmarks will be completely different.
Preventive removal of birthmarks is a simple manipulation, which takes a little time. Usually, the scar on the skin after healing quickly heals heavily.
Birthmarks are available to all people. They are very different in shape, size, color, location. If they are damaged, you should immediately contact a doctor to exclude possible fatal consequences when the benign tumor becomes malignant.
